Welcome to a new school year at Emma K. Doub School for Arts & Technology! I am thrilled to return to EKD as your principal and to once again be part of this incredible school community. Returning feels like coming home. While much has grown and evolved throughout my professional journey, my passions remain the same: putting students first, fostering innovation, and leading meaningful school improvement efforts that support both student achievement and staff success.

As we begin this school year together, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for all that lies ahead. Every day, I am inspired by our dedicated staff, the unwavering support of our families, and—most importantly—the curiosity, creativity, and resilience of our students. Their enthusiasm for learning is what makes EKD such a special place.

At EKD, we believe meaningful learning happens when strong relationships, high expectations, and purposeful support come together. We are proud to offer a rich educational experience that blends innovative Computer Science opportunities for our Magnet students with a vibrant arts-integrated curriculum for every child. From Pre-K through fifth grade, students engage in hands-on, project-based learning that develops critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while preparing them to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our students don't simply learn about the world—they explore it, create within it, and make meaningful connections through the arts, technology, movement, and authentic learning experiences. Whether performing on stage, designing solutions, creating works of art, or participating in athletics, every child has opportunities to discover their strengths and talents. Because our school community is intentionally small, every student is truly known, valued, and supported.
